Can you make a housing disrepair claim?

You may be entitled to bring a claim if you rent a house, have reported the problem to your landlord, and your landlord has failed to carry out the repairs within a reasonable time. A successful claim can secure compensation and a court order requiring the repairs to be completed.

You may be eligible to claim if:

You rent from a council, housing association or registered social landlord
You reported the repair problem to your landlord
Your landlord has had a reasonable time to carry out the repairs
The disrepair has affected your enjoyment of the property or your health

Why tenants choose Antony Hodari Solicitors

Established in 1984, the year before the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 itself, we have represented claimants for over 40 years and now act exclusively for tenants, never landlords. We have built a reputation for taking on landlords who think tenants will not push back, securing real compensation and real repairs.

“We built this firm on one principle: do the work properly. The 3,200 reviews and the 96% recommendation rate are a product of that, not of marketing.”

Stephen Lund · Director
